Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl of just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. When she was 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes on singing, acting, and dance. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film set records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. The film received praise from critics, as were the performances of its three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film, winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in an Feature Film.
